DetaiLAB was asked to design a family room addition on a restrictive parcel.   Due to the location of the existing garage, only a narrow section of land was available to locate the addition.  A flowing roof line extends over the family room, shading the interior from the sun and providing diffuse light.   The adjacent ceiling and walls are clad in rift-cut white oak to emphasize the roof structure.   Floor-to-ceiling windows open the space and provide expansive views of the backyard.
